Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains how Meridian Australia ("Meridian", "we", "us") collects, uses, holds and discloses personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who we are

Meridian Australia (ABN 35 149 257 456) is a property investment consultancy and buyer's agency. This policy applies to our website, our online tools and calculators, our client and business‑partner portals, and our dealings with clients, enquirers and business partners.

2. The personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

We do not seek to collect sensitive information (such as health information) and ask that you do not send it to us unless we specifically request it for a lawful purpose.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you — through our website forms, strategy‑call bookings, our tools, the portals, email and phone — and, where relevant, from third parties such as referral or business partners who introduce you to us. We also collect technical information automatically through cookies and analytics when you use our website.

4. Why we collect and use it

5. Meridian AI and automated tools

Our website offers an AI assistant ("Meridian AI") and automated calculators. These provide general information and indicative estimates only. They do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you on their own — our team reviews any material step. Information you submit to Meridian AI may be processed by our AI service providers to generate a response. Please don't enter confidential or sensitive personal information into the assistant.

6. When we disclose personal information

We may disclose your personal information to:

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (for example cloud hosting, analytics and AI providers) may store or process information on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the website work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as intended if you disable them.

9. Security and data retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including member accounts, which are protected by login credentials (passwords are stored hashed). No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Member accounts and enquiry records are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, and are then deleted or de‑identified. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first. If you hold a member account, you can also ask us to close it and delete the personal information we hold about you, except where we're required to keep some of it by law.

11. Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, please contact us first and we'll try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
